Professional learning provider Better Lesson (Cambridge, MA) in December raised $2 million from four investors, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange commission. (Brooklyn, NY), a startup providing online classes for college credit in January said it raised $11.7 million in Series A funding in a round led by GSV Ventures with participation from Harrison Metal, Tectonic capital and Jackson Square Ventures. Outlier focuses on entry-level college classes that earn students who pass the course college credit at the University of Pittsburgh. Pilot courses were Calculus I and Introduction to Psychology offered at $400 per course, including course materials.
