Student retention and assessment platform provider Skyfactor (formerly EBI MAP-Works), a business of Macmillan Learning (New York), in August formed a strategic partnership with NODA: the Association for Orientation, Transition and Retention in Higher Education. Through this collaboration aimed at improving student success, Skyfactor assessments will be offered in conjunction with NODA primarily for orientation (student, leader and family). Assessments will be sold through Skyfactor and administered utilizing the Benchworks platform system.

Education Design Lab (Washington, D.C.), a nonprofit that applies design thinking to create new pathways from education to employment, in August formed a partnership with digital credential service provider Credly (New York) through which participating colleges and universities will be designated as authorized issuers of digital credentials for a set of EDL’s 21st Century Skills credentials that recognize workforce-relevant skills. Education Design Lab utilized university-based pilots to develop a process for assessing, recognizing and badging skills such as collaboration, empathy and creative problem solving.
