Weld North Education (Scottsdale, AZ), a provider of digital intervention, supplemental and assessment solutions, in February made several senior leadership appointments following its January acquisition of K-12 core curriculum provider LearnZillion. WNE named Gautam Parasnis chief operating officer, responsible for instructional design and curriculum development, product engineering, learning sciences and technology operations. Parasnis joined Weld North in 2014 and has held senior operating positions with several of WNE’s digital education companies since then. Also, Todd Ellermann was named vice president of engineering, reporting to Parasnis. Ellermann joins WNE from Clarivate Analytics. WNE also named David Alderslade executive vice president, leading finance and administration and reporting to WNE vice chairman and chief financial officer Steven J. Berger. Alderslade most recently was CFO at WNE business Edgenuity.

Digital reading platform provider Overdrive (Cleveland) in February named Angela Arnold general manager of OverDrive Education, which provides student reading solutions and digital content to schools and libraries. Arnold, in this newly created position, reports to OverDrive founder and CEO Steve Potash. A former librarian, Arnold more recently held several marketing management positions.

Mehul Patel as of February 28 is resigning his position as group president, financial services, at postsecondary workforce provider Adtalem Global Education (Chicago), to pursue another opportunity outside the education industry. The Financial Services vertical will be led by chief operating officer Stephen Beard, and Chaka Patterson, vice president, deputy general counsel, is being promoted to general counsel and corporate secretary. Both report to chairman and CEO Lisa Wardell.
