Kelli Morrison on June 30 assumed duties as interim chief accounting officer at Cengage (Boston). Morrison, who had been the company’s assistant controller and vice president, external reporting, succeeded senior vice president, controller and chief accounting officer Stephen Nee, who left the company. Earlier in June, Cengage named Rebecca McNamara interim chief financial officer in the wake of the March departure of CFO Michael Pickrum. Both Morrison and McNamara will serve in their interim positions until permanent successors are named.

KnowledgeWorks (Cincinnati), a nonprofit advocacy organization for personalized and competency-based learning, in June named Charles Ambrose as its president and CEO. Ambrose, who most recently was president of the University of Central Missouri for eight years, officially joins Knowledge Works September 1. He succeeds Judy Peppler, who will retire on July 1. KnowledgeWorks’ chief financial officer Holly Brinkman will serve as interim CEO until Ambrose joins the organization.
