Online program management provider 2U, Inc. (Lanham, MD) in October named Paul S. Lalljie chief financial officer. Lalljie, who assumed his post October 14, most recently was CFO of Neustar, an information services and technology company, from 2009 to 2018. Lalljie, who reports to 2U CEO Christopher Paucek, succeeds Catherine A. Graham, who announced her retirement as 2U’s CFO in August.

Barnes & Noble Education (Basking Ridge, NJ) in October named Gary L. June to the newly-created role of vice president, head of institutional services, Digital Student Solutions, effective immediately. June will report directly to Kanuj Malhotra, president of DSS. June is expected to drive the growth of the student services in the bartleby ecosystem through institutional sales and strategic business development. June most recently was vice president of sales and marketing at Jones and Bartlett Learning (Burlington, MA), a division of Ascend Learning. Earlier he had spent many years at Pearson (London/New York), including as chief marketing officer of Pearson Education.
